Spendzy (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Spendzy mobile application collects, accesses, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the app.

  1. About Spendzy

Spendzy is a personal money management app that helps users track expenses, savings goals, money lent, money owed, reminders, and backups.

  1. Information We Access or Process

a. Information you enter into the app
Spendzy stores information that you choose to enter, such as:

  • expense records
  • savings goals and savings entries
  • lending and owing records
  • notes, dates, reminder settings, and attachments
  • contact names, phone numbers, and profile photos that you add inside the app

b. Contacts
If you grant the Contacts permission, Spendzy may access contact names and phone numbers on your device to help you quickly select people for lending and owing records.
This permission is optional. If you do not grant it, you can still use manual entry.

c. Photos and files selected by you
If you choose profile images or attachment files, Spendzy accesses only the files you select through system pickers or related user actions.

d. Notifications
If you allow notifications, Spendzy uses them to send lending and owing reminder alerts and other app-related reminders.

e. Google account and Google Drive backup data
If you choose cloud backup or restore, Spendzy uses Google authorization and may store your backup data in your own Google Drive app data area linked to your Google account.

f. Purchase information
If you purchase Premium, Spendzy uses Google Play Billing to process the purchase and verify premium entitlement status.

We use information only to provide app features, including:

  • saving and displaying your financial records
  • helping you choose contacts for lend/owe entries
  • sending reminder notifications when enabled
  • backing up and restoring your data when you request it
  • enabling and restoring Premium purchase status
  • improving app stability and user experience
  1. Data Storage

Spendzy primarily stores your data locally on your device.

If you use cloud backup, your backup data is stored in your own Google Drive app data area. We do not use your backup data for advertising or unrelated purposes.

  1. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not share your personal financial records with third-party advertisers.

Data may be processed by third-party service providers only when required to deliver features you use, such as:

  • Google Play Billing for in-app purchases
  • Google authorization services for account-based features
  • Google Drive if you choose cloud backup or restore
  1. Permissions Used by the App

Spendzy may request these permissions:

  • READ_CONTACTS: to help you select contacts for lending and owing entries
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS: to send reminders and alerts
  • INTERNET: to support Google authorization, cloud backup/restore, and purchase-related services

Permissions are requested only for relevant app features and may be denied by you, subject to feature limitations.

  1. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the app.

If you create backup files or cloud backups, those remain available until you remove or overwrite them.

You can delete individual records from inside the app. You can also remove the app and clear its local data from your device settings.

We take reasonable steps to protect your data within the app. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Spendzy is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at the same policy URL with a revised effective date.
